Job Type: Full-time, Permament
Pay Rate: $18-24 per hour, based on experience and ability
Schedule: 9:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday
Job Description: As a prepress operator you will be confronted with and required to solve problems on a daily basis. Your position has a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities to work on many different types of machines/projects. On a daily basis you will be using the Adobe suite to prepare PDF proofs for clients. Once approved, you may run the job on our digital press, our wide-format printer, laser engraver or create plates for our offset press.
Communication is a key skill of a prepress operator. Not only will you be communicating with our clients to understand/implement their requirements but you will also work closely with our head prepress operator who will train you for all of these tasks.
Key Tasks:
· Operate and perform maintenance on our Kodak digital NexPress ZX3300
· Operate laser engraver
· Operate Roland wide-format printer
· Typeset documents and send proofs to clients
· Print and label plates for offset press
· Write dockets and follow jobs from start-to-finish
· Perform quality testing/assurance during production
Requirements:
· Fluent in English (written & spoken)
· Experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign (Photoshop is a plus)
· Passion for delivering high quality work
· Drive to learn and get involved
· Must be able to lift 35lbs
